This kid, my little boy, turns four years old next week. Can we please just take a moment to reflect on this? I started my blog in 2010 and I was lucky enough to sky rocket in this industry, locally and internationally as it was early days for Australia and blogging. I was this fashion-boundary-pushing-chick focusing on myself and my career and how I can get myself to Paris Fashion week. Eight months later, I fell pregnant, which kind of put a hold on things. I documented my pregnancy style but my readers (the then, young and not thinking about having a child any time soon kind) didn’t really get where I was at. My style changed and I put on an extra 25kgs and I was super self conscious, I ended up having my sister in law feature in my blog editorials.

Aston was born on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 bombings, an easy date to remember for us. I took a blogging break and when I finally was ready to come back, the world of blogging had changed and the competition was fierce. Instagram had stared and I that was just another thing I didn’t have time for (mistake number one) but I had much more important things to worry about. Lucky for me, I had a lot of help with Aston so I could get back into building my career which in the end, was the biggest year for my career with major campaigns, jobs, opportunities and travels.

Juggling being a mum and finding time for yourself as well as working is extremely hard but I would not change it for the world. I wouldn’t wish for 200k more instagram followers, I wouldn’t wish to still be that face for that brand or be on that flight to that fashion week if it meant I wasn’t a mum. This little human is the most precious gift of all, something I am proud of making and will be the only possession I have that will last a life time.

Naaaawwww….
