In 2011/2012 we have seen an explosion of colour, bold and solid, power prints mixed with florals and the like, but taking cues from abroad (as we should) it’s time to move forward from this kelidescope and say hello to the next big fashion thing. Think: watercolours, pastels in prints, neon highlights, mirrored prints and softened blocked colours. Mint, lavender and soft blues should be key in your wardrobe later this year (or now if you are overseas or fashion obsessed) So, keep doing what you’re doing but just tone it down.
So, I am going off with a bang! in my fun crazy bold coloured pants (which I love might I add and I do have a few more months up my sleeve to wear these) and I am ready to welcome all things gelato into my wardrobe!
Hat and Pants: ASOS, T-shrits: Sass & Bide, Jewellery: Samantha Wills and Hermes, Shoes: Zara
So apart from my blog being H A C K # D into, Google Friend Connect disappearing (so long 500 followers) preparing my outfits for LMFF and reading all your comments on the MIMCO giveaway I don’t have much to report! Andie McDowell in Aurelio Costarella & the Face of LMFF 2011 Melissa George
Seated comfortably in the second row of the first runway to kick off the LMFF 2011I was eagerly suprised to see an international starlet in the house, Andie McDowell! Brushing shoulders with us meer mortals and wearing an Aurelio Costarella Ramen Waterfall dress she embodied a glorious glow which made me rummage though my gift bag in the hunt of any facial product by Loreal that would make my face as heavenly as hers (because I am worth it!)
Carla Zampatti opened the show with her bold yet burnt orange garments followed by the boundary pushing Romance was Born with florals pointed power shoulders and sequins to boot. An essence of sixties was felt with RWB but with an edge of 2011. A huge trend I found throughout the show was FUR, LACE AND LEATHER all mixed together or one with the other. Plenty of black, lots of mini’s for winter collection’s and of course embellishment. Oh yes you are all wanting to know about Sass & Bide… well nothing really blew me away except the brushed metal gold necklaces and belts, the rest of the collection was pretty safe, a bit of shiny fabric here and natural colours there and some snake print pants which I am sure will grace the legs of some fashionable fashionistas.
All and all I had a fabulous time at this show hosted by Grazia and received a jam packed gift bag with lots of Loreal products and of course my fav Grazia mag
