Not too long ago I called up my dear friend Cecylia Kee, in my eyes the most creative vintage queen I know! As you would know, I don’t wear nor own any vintage pieces (excluding designer vintage) I have no idea how to, or where to even begin with vintage: it’s shops, how to find the perfect piece and how to get the Nana smell out!
So, I put Cecylia to the challenge to style me in some cool vintage pieces (all her own finds might I add!)
These images above are the outcome, I am so digging the mint dress and loving the unique styling of sporty come lady like look.
Firstly Happy Easter everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend with your family and friends and ate lots and lots of chocolate like I did. I had a lovely time with my family (both my husband’s family and mine) and the weather was superb!
The winner of the House Of Baulch Orbis ring was Ange for your fantastic comment on what you would wear it with. I love the hint of edge you threw in with the skirt! So… I am not an avid vintage shopper, however I did dabble in it not long ago for a shoot I was styling. I found this vintage wedding dress and fell in love with it and thought I would have a play with it and show you what I came up with. Look, this is more of a play look not so much- go out and wear it style outfit but its a bit of fun- with the gum-boots and all!

I thought I would take the ‘leopard’ trend to the max by teaming my shoes with this dress I found in my mum’s wardrobe from the 90′s, belting it, fur-ing it and playing around with the length! voila!
The puuurrrrfect tribal- animal – vintage- look with a hint of designer!

Sometimes.. sometimesyou can be sooo lucky and find an amazing vintage designer piece. Four years ago, whilst on a merchandising trip to Sydney, I discovered a vintage store off Oxford St and saw this adorable skirt in the window. At the time I just liked the look of it, what a statement! and as I tried it on I discovered it was Issey Miyake!! ahhh!!! I love that! I have had many wear out of it and have lots more to come.
My necklace is vintage Chanel, I picked it up in a vintage store Gabrielle Gebbert, on my last trip to Paris. I am thinking it was late 1980′s (during Karl’s first 10 years at least), ok.. it is actually a belt but I prefer it as a necklace!!
The shoes are old school Marc Jacobs and my top (you may remember from a shoot I did) is from a local boutique Bue.
This is a very romantic look I think. The look could have gone all wrong and I could have looked like a clown with the frill neck and bright colours of the skirt, but I tried to tone it down a notch
