Emirates Marquee Derby Day a sneak peek into the birdcage.
Flying high as the premiere marquee in the Birdcage, Emirates treated their A-list guests to a first class Derby Day. Greeted by immaculately groomed air hostesses, I walked up the grand staircase covered in classic Irish green plaid into a world of sheer Irish hospitality. Smiles all round, Irish drinks and authentic food carried by waiters wearing ‘Grandpa Harrity Caps’ worked the room whilst Brian McFadden entertained some fluttering fillies.
Each year Emirates take inspiration from a country for their theme and my Spanish look was two years too late in this marquee, never the less I chose to stay true to the black and white Derby theme wearing a lace Zuzana Vranovska hat, Dorothy Perkins Dress and YSL heels. The guest list had celebrities at every turn from Collingwood Football Players, top models, TV starts, socialites, Harry Kewell, Sophie Monk, Nat Bassingthwaite, Brian and Vogue McFadden, Vince Colosimo, Matt Preston, Eddie Maguire and the list continues. With the best view of the track in the ‘cage’ and an electric atmosphere, it was a smooth flight into Dublin.
