Georgie, Me and Cecylia

Aurelio Costarella.

Christine (thanks to Fashionising.com for this images…my pics came out terrible)

Debuting my Karl Who? tshirt, last night I attended the Designer Series 2 at the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. A sea of fashionistas flocked the Melbourne Town Hall stairs, mingling, showing their best fashion accessories and anticipating the collections that await them inside. It is here where I put the faces to the blogs! My sister in law Georgie and I caught up with our beautiful friend, fellow blogger and boutique owner Cecylia and compared Felder Felderstatement skirts, I wore the studs and CC wore the ring skirt.  I met Tania and Daniel from the uber fashion hub website, Fashionising.com and I was thrilled to thank them in person for connecting me to other fashionisers that lead me to my first ever styling job that kick starting my career! I met Jane Mills and her stunning daughter Charlotte from whatjanesays , Style Wilderness and Cheryl from Business Chic who snapped some pics of us!

Inside, third row back and rummaging through my gift bag, the show begins. My fav Aussie designer, Aurelio Costarella’s collection went way to quick and turned from whimsical neutrals to black night wear (I still love you Aurelio!) overall for the night, I would have loved to have seen the designers play with more statement prints and exaggerated spring colours throughout the show, more ‘Spring’ pieces rather than evening or bridal-esque wear. However my heart was stolen a couple of times, first by Yeojin Baewith a magnificent coral suit (oh how I love colour, tailored suits) and then lastly the queen of accessories Christine wowed me with her oh-so-perfect designer accessories, head wear and jewellery, not to mention the styling of the clothing, mixing prints and patterns and colours- just what I wanted to see :) check out Fashionising.com for the runways images – mine are hopeless

xxx ps: next year I will be front row??? haha fingers crossed

What I am wearing: Karl Who? tshirt, River Island blazer, Asos hat, Felder Felder stud skirt and Georgina Goodman booties.

It’s a citrus kinda Summer

If you haven’t already done so, you must make yourself familiar with Yamila Guedez. Her amazing designs are so unique and fresh and as you know, I love statement pieces, these are the ultimate fashion essential! These snaps were taken and styled by me and showcase the Yamila Guedez latest collection full of citrus and bright colours, platted, draping and mesh neck wear, hair pieces and over the top statement colour pop rings. These images can be seen in the Sept issue of Fashion Journal.

Check out Yamila Guedez! you will love her collections (mostly one-off’s) as much as I do

Jack

The Union Jack is in my flag and maybe in yours too pending your country, I could not let this top (in my case, dress) slip though my fingers when I saw it on Nasty Gal, I just had to have it! Quite patriotic I suppose and very indy. My sis in law borrowed it to wear to a ‘festival’ themed party, I am looking forward to putting denim shorties with it and these amazing ankle boots are such a  great find!!!

My White Euoro Pants

Every time I have visited Europe, I am always fascinated by the way people (most of the time men) wear white pants. You just dont see it in Australia, we are not that confident! I found these overalls on asos.com of course and thought I would give em’ a go (as we Aussies say) oh and these little mouse flats are my Marc Jacobs from a while back I thought I would dust them off and whip them out!

Well its Friday! hooray! even more hooray cos it is a day closer to my trip! I am craving the sun and the shopping, I even had Miu Miu Singapore hold one of the new season neck collars for me!! hehe they are sold out here and I didn’t want to be disappointed over there! so naughty!

kisses xxx

Seeing Vintage Red

Only recently I have discovered that wearing vintage is not always smelly and daggy. Infact it gives more of a story to your look and it seems most vinatge pieces are really good statement pieces. I found this skirt whist rummiging through my mum’s wardrobe, it is a 90′s skirt and with the pressure to drop the hemline atm I thought I would give it a whirl and drop with the pressure, the crochet top I picked up  at the Camberwell market, the boots are old old old school BOSS Orange from when I first started as the VM there about 4 years ago I think.

The rings are new, Sass & Bide and Asos, GAS cross necklace xxx

Enjoy the rest of your week! I am counting down to my Singapore trip!!!

K is for Karl

Living in Australia is a blessing, we are so lucky, our country is beautiful, peaceful and eventful… however because we are SO FAR AWAY from everyone else it is so hard to get my mitts on anything with Karl’s name on it!! For instance: This amazing Karl Who? t-shirt and tote!!!

I searched the web high and low to see who has not sold out and who will ship to the land where people hitch a ride on a Kangaroo to get to work (hehe not true to those who believe it!!). I paid $80 to get the Diet Coca Cola with Karl on it from Colette  ( and no I don’t regret it) but this is a pure example of the lengths that we Aussies have to go through to get desired international fashion to our shores.

Although I am kinda glad they don’t because it makes my o/s trip purchases exclusive… I would like to see Zara have an online store (apparently it is coming- but will they ship to us?) and River Island!!! c’mon mate!

Any who- to have a happy ending, I did find a store in Singapore , ACTUALLYACTUALLYwho stock the Karl Who? Naco-Paris products and they went above and beyond in providing me with my very own Karl Who? t-shirts!!! aghhhhh!!I am so excited! I am picking them up (yes, them, one in each colour!) when I visit next week! wooooo hoooo!  oh and FYI here are the other Naco-Paris t-shirts also avail from the super amazing store  ACTUALLY ACTUALLY.

Oh and a word to my followers THANK YOU!!! xxx

In the name of Anna

It has been way too long since my last ‘fashion my way’ post, so to kick off my latest look I thought I would dedicate this post to the fashion goddess herself Anna Dello Russo!

Would the real Supermodel please stand up!

As I flick through a 90’s issue of Vogue and I recall the days of Claudia Schiffer covers, I look to our runway models of today and question ‘do we consider today’s top models super models?’ When you hear the word supermodel, what flawless beauty comes to mind?  Cindy Crawford? Naomi Campbell? Linda Evangalista? Christy Turlington? For me those names embody the word, whether they have hung up their heels from the catwalk (do we even say catwalk now? Or is it runway?) Or not, I have and will always classify these silky stunners as supermodels. Just a note of info from Wikipedia… ‘The word Supermodel refers to a highly-paid fashion model that usually has a worldwide reputation and often a background in haute couture and commercial modeling. They have branded themselves as household names, first name recognition is a solid indication of supermodel and worldwide recognition is associated with their modeling careers. Claudia Shchiffer stated, “In order to become a supermodel one must be on all the covers all over the world at the same time so that people can recognise the girls’.

With this in mind, if I said the names Abby, Gisel, Sasha, Miranda, Daria, Chanel, Agyness, Karolina and Jessica to you, what names do you recognise and consider a supermodel of today? Or are they just super skinny, attractive, highly paid and sought after runway models?? I even think these names could be divided into model type categories, because you wouldn’t see Miranda in a Chanel runway and you wouldn’t see Agyness as a Victoria Secret model. So who is today’s supermodel? Or doesn’t the supermodel as we know it exist anymore?

Just something to ponder about and FYI my fav model’s at the moment are Natasha Poly and Magdalena Frackowiak.
